As I'm sure any readers of this blog are probably aware, I am HUGE fan of Trailers from Hell. Amazing site, one of my favorites. Their mission (much like my own) is to keep older films in the public consciousness and remind us all how interesting they can be. TFH is an amazing resource especially in a time when there are so many films out there for people to choose from. Led by Joe Dante, their 'Gurus'(among them John Landis, Allan Arkush, Edgar Wright, Josh Olson, Guillermo del Toro, Larry Karaszewksi and Brian Trenchard-Smith) are truly passionate and knowledgeable film fans and it shows. They have nearly 600(!) trailers on the site now and that may perhaps be a little overwhelming to some, so I thought I'd start a series highlighting some of my favorites there. Below I have selected my first group of favorites and have indicated with each who is 'Guru-ing' (i.e. giving commentary on) for that particular trailer. I've linked each movie to TFH in the titles so hop on over there and check out these trailers! By the way, here is a great little interview Joe Dante did just recently talking about the site, his films and some recent favorite movies. Also, there are some TFH related interviews I've done including this one with Joe Dante himself and my first ever interview for GGTMC, this one with Josh Olson. Additionally, I also interviewed Joe Dante for Paracinema Magazine last year and we discussed TFH then too.
TWS-So glad I could turn you onto Trailers From Hell! Such a wonderful site. You can really waste hours and hours poking around there, and they still put out 3 new trailers each week, which I always look forward to!
