Here's a quick post I've been meaning to do for a while. Not really apropos of anything in particular except that I've been wanting to rewatch EYES WIDE SHUT(which I don't think I've seen since it's theatrical run). As with My Favorite Hitchock Films, the order here is always in flux. This is just how I feel right now.
wow we're nearly direct inverses. mine would be: 1 BARRY LYNDON 2 A CLOCKWORK ORANGE 3 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY 4 FULL METAL JACKET 5 EYES WIDE SHUT 6 THE SHINING 7 PATHS OF GLORY 8 SPARTACUS 9 THE KILLING 10 LOLITA 11 KILLER'S KISS 12 DR STRANGELOVE
Fair enough, cool to see the BARRY LYNDON love. That's one of his that I feel is unjustly overlooked. Not a STRANGELOVE fan huh? I guess it was like the second film of his I saw(After CLOCKWORK) so it really hooked me.
1. Full Metal Jacket 2. The Shining 3. Lolita 4. 2001: A Space Odyssey 5. Spartacus 6. Barry Lyndon 7. A Clockwork Orange
I haven't seen the others so I don't think it's fair to judge them yet. And Barry Lyndon I haven't seen since it's original release- at which I fell asleep while watching! In a couple days I am going to a screening of it at The L.A. Cinematheque to see it again since I think I was too young to appreciate it back then. So I have a feeling it may rise in the ranks post viewing.
