Underrated Detective/Mysteries - Joe Dante

Joe Dante is absolutely one of my favorite directors of all-time. I say that, not only with a deep admiration for his films, but also for his love of cinema in general. I've had the pleasure of interviewing him (twice!) and his knowledge of movies is simply out of this world. Hopefully you are a regular viewer of Trailers From Hell at this point(and you should be checking the site regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for new trailer commentaries every week), BUT if for some reason you are not already a fan, stop what you're doing at this very moment and head on over to and start watching their remarkable plethora of trailers! I can't thank Joe enough for doing this list and I hope you enjoy it! I've included his Trailers From Hell trailers below so you can hear some of Joe's insights about those particular films (one of them was commented on by another Guru, but that's there as well).
Also, if you're interested in hearing the interviews I've done with him, they can be found here:
and here:

Also, Joe did a list of 10 Favorite Underrated Horror films for me a while back if you want to have a look at that:

In addition to that, Joe recently did a list for the Underrated Westerns series too:
BLOOD AND BLACK LACE (1964; Mario Bava)

HORROR ISLAND (1941; George Waggner)

THE LAST OF SHEILA (1973; Herbert Ross)
(Larry Karaszewski actually Guru'd this one)

THE NANNY (1965; Seth Holt)

THE BIG CLOCK (1948; John Farrow)
