Just The Pods Vol. 10

FILM STORIES WITH SIMON BREW - THE UNTOUCHABLES AND THE EMOJI MOVIE
This podcast recommendation came from twitter and I was glad I got it. I was immediately drawn to the way host Simon Brew goes about discussing the behind the scenes tales of the movies that he is focusing on. Being a huge De Palma fan, I was on board with any discussion of THE UNTOUCHABLES, and was less excited about stories about THE EMOJI MOVIE, but Simon manages to find the interesting points to bring up about both productions as to keep me engages. High recommend and I've added this to my list of regular listens.

THE MARX BROTHERS COUNCIL PODCAST - THE MISSING MARX BROTHERS
I'm a Marx Brothers fiend so this recent/newish podcast had to be checked out.
On this episode, Marx Brothers scholar Rodney Stewart Hillel Tryster joins the guys for a look into now-lost moments from the Marxes' career. Some are legendary, some are obscure...and some may never have occurred. Bob interviews Thomas Racz, who details his exciting discovery of a unique print of A Night at the Opera at the Hungarian Film Archive. Rodney and Matthew talk about why the odds of finding Humor Risk may be greater than Groucho would have you believe.http://marxcast.blogspot.com/2018/09/episode-6-missing-marx-brothers.html

THE IMPORTANT CINEMA CLUB - The Quiet Desparation of W.C. Fields
Just turned on to this show as well (another Twitter rec) and zeroed in right away on this slightly older episode as I am a sucker for W.C. Fields talk and IT'S A GIFT is one of my all-time favorite films.

HOME SCHOOL FILM SCHOOL - THE CROW
Anthony digs into the story behind the Alex Proyas cult favorite starring Brandon Lee in this episode. I honestly haven't thought about this movie in a while so it was very cool to hear some discussion of how it came to be.

WRONG REEL - Ron Shelton - From Infielder to Filmmaker
James is joined by returning guest Jacob Rivera to chat about the great sports film filmmaker Ron Shelton - who I dig quite a bit. Having dug James and Jacob's recent episode covering director Tony Scott, this was a must listen for me.
